YMCA To Provide Activities During Winter Break

The Jamestown YMCA will provide five full days of activities for children 5 to 12 years of age for the upcoming school winter recess starting Monday, Feb. 17 through Friday, Feb. 21. The program begins each day at 9 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. with early drop-off at 7:30 a.m. and late pickup at 5:30 p.m. for working parents at no extra charge.

Daily activities are themed based, highly interactive, and offer variety of activities that are appropriate to this age group. Weekly themed activities include: Monday, Feb. 17, is Dance Mania Day; Tuesday, Feb. 18, is YMCA’s Top Chef Day; Wednesday, Feb. 19, is Ultimate Bowling Day; Thursday, Feb. 20, is YMCA’s Got Talent day; Friday, Feb. 21, is Funny Fashion Show Day. Special field trips are planned throughout the five days including a trip to Jamestown Bowling Company, Auntie Anne’s Pretzels and Bounce A Lot Playland in Chautauqua Mall. Each day, children should bring a lunch, a morning and afternoon snack, and a swim suit and towel.

Registration forms and additional program information is available at the Jamestown YMCA Welcome Center. Partial scholarship funds are available for qualifying individuals on a first come, first serve basis. Program fees for every day are $24 per child for YMCA members and $32 for potential members, except Bounce A Lot Playland and Auntie Anne’s day. Enrollment is limited.
