STAR Swimmers Compete At Planet Adventure Winter Invite

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Eight swimmers from the local STAR Niagara team recently competed in the 2014 Planet Adventure Winter Invitational at the Indiana University Natatorium, located on the campus of IUPUI in Indianapolis.

It was is a national-level meet with qualifying times.

For the STAR team, Sydney Burk competed in the U-14 girls, placing 15th overall in the 100 backstroke (1:03:33), 24th in the 50 freestyle (26:3), and a 38th place in the 200 freestyle (2:04:81).

Mackenzie Quinn (U-11 girls) had a 40th place in the 100 butterfly (1:14:81) and a 53rd in the 50 butterfly (32.7).

Xiane Smith (U-15 girls) was 31st in the 50 freestyle (25.46), and 55th in the 200 freestyle (2:01.67).

Sydney Thomas (U-15 girls) had a 13th place in the 200 backstroke (2:07.37), a 17th in the 100 backstroke (1:00.52) and a 19th in the 1,650 freestyle (18:12.3).

Paige Turcotte (U-14 girls) had an 18th in the 100 breaststroke (1:14.22), a 23rd in the 200 breaststroke (2:40.9) and a 26th in the 100 butterfly (1:04.49).

Anna O’Brien (U-15 girls) swam the 100 freestyle, the 200 freestyle and the 50 freestyle for the local STARS.

Two swimmers from Dunkirk also attended the event for STAR Niagara, Osasere Osula (U-12 boys) and Omosefe Osula (U-13 girls).
