The regular season for Section 6 wrestling has come to a close and the postseason begins today with class tournaments.

The top four finishers in each weight class at each class tournament advance to the Section 6 Championships at Niagara County Community College. Division 1 will wrestle on Feb. 14 and Division 2 on Feb. 15.

The Jamestown Red Raiders will be traveling to Lockport High School for their first postseason action of the year in the Class AA Tournament.

After finishing in second place behind the Clarence Red Devils in ECIC Division 1, Jamestown has hopes of sending multiple wrestlers on to the sectional tournament.

The Class B Tournament will be held at Cheektowaga High School and will feature Dunkirk-Silver Creek and Olean-Allegany Limestone.

Southwestern, Falconer and Salamanca will be heading to Eden High School today for the Class C Tournament.

After falling to the second-ranked team in the state, Midlakes, to end their undefeated season, the Golden Falcons will look to carry their regular-season momentum into the postseason.

The most teams from the area will be making their way to Portville High School for the Class D Tournament.

Leading the way will be Westfield-Ripley-Chautauqua Lake, which was undefeated in Division 2 at 6-0.

Cattaraugus-Little Valley/Pine Valley was one spot behind WRCL in the division at 6-1 and will also be in action in Portville, along with the third-place Maple Grove Red Dragons, who ended the year at 5-2 in the division.

Also making the trip for Class D will be Cassadaga Valley (3-2), Franklinville (2-5), Frewsburg (0-6), Gowanda, Holland, host Portville and Randolph (2-3).

At all the tournaments, wrestling will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the championship matches scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
