Community Forum On County’s Drug Problem Set For March 12
Chautauqua County will host a community forum starting at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, at the Chautauqua Inn and Suites, 215 W. Lake Road, Mayville, focusing on the county’s growing drug problem.
Planning for the forum began shortly after Vince Horrigan was elected county executive was elected and has been led by Patricia Brinkman, county community mental hygeine services director. Other stakeholders involved in preparing for the event including leaders from the Chautauqua Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Council, WCA Hospital, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Chautauqua County Department of Mental Hygiene, the Mental Health Association, Dunkirk Police Department, Jamestown Police Department, Chautauqua County Department of Emergency Services, and Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services.
“Effective solutions to big problems require all of us to come together to evaluate where we are and how we can become more effective in reversing the growing problem of drug abuse in Chautauqua County,” said Horrigan.
