Jamestown Man Faces Leandra’s Law DWI
LAKEWOOD – A Jamestown man was charged Sunday after police caught him driving while intoxicated with two children inside his car.
According to the Lakewood-Busti Police Department, Von P. Kightlinger, 54, was stopped by police on East Fairmount Avenue at approximately 11:24 p.m. because his car had only one observable headlight.
Further investigation revealed that Kightlinger was allegedly intoxicated and had a 15-year-old and 12-year-old inside as passengers.
Kightlinger was charged with felony aggravated driving while intoxicated with children in the vehicle-a violation of Leandra’s Law-DWI, uninspected motor vehicle, driving with less than two headlights and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Kightlinger also refused to take a chemical breath test, police added.
He was arraigned in Busti Court.
