T-Birds Roll To Win Over Brocton

MAYVILLE – A stifling 2-3 matchup zone resulted in four shot-clock violations and carried Chautauqua Lake (3-6, 5-10) to a 45-20 victory over Brocton (0-9) in Division 2 West boys basketball on Friday night.

The Thunderbirds limited Brocton to just five points while scoring 18 themselves, including six by Ian Clute, in an 11-1 run in the second quarter.

Carter Davidson came off the bench and scored all nine points in a 19-6 third-quarter spree when Clute got six more for the winners.

Clute wound up with a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds in the win. He also had four steals while teammate A.J. Hulton had six rebounds.
