Cub Scout Pack 103 Holds Pinewood Derby

RANDOLPH – Twenty-five boys competed in the annual Cub Scout Pack 103 Pinewood Derby on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the Randolph Fire Hall with a large crowd of family members in attendance.

Ethan Chadwick won the pack championship. Matthew Barrus took second place overall, and Lane Taylor placed third. Tiger I Den winners were Parker McLane, first; Collin Hadley, second; Gabe Frame, third. Tiger II Den winners were Allen Root, first; Gaige Emke, second; David Root, third. Top finishers in the Wolf Den were Lane Taylor, first; Cameron Taylor, second; Gavin Stearns, third; Bear Den top places were Camden Cali, first; Andrew Wilcox, second. Webelos I prizes went to Gannon Kenyon, first; Wyatt Taylor, second; Caleb Peelman, third. Webelos II prizes went to Matthew Barrus, first; Ethan Chadwick, second; and Eli Olejniczak, third.

Four scouts from Boy Scout Troop 103 assisted with registration and judging. The cubs thanked Landmark Chevrolet for donating car kits for all of the boys this year.

During intermission, Webelos Caleb Peelman, Jody Frame, Wyatt Taylor, Dalton Greenman and Gannon Kenyon received their Fitness badges; Eli Olejniczak received the Naturalist badge, and Ethan Chadwick received the Scholar badge. Jody Frame and Caleb Peelman earned their Whittling Chips.

Coming events include Cub Scout Winter Fun Day on Feb. 8 at Camp Merz, Blue and Gold Banquet on Feb. 19, Bowl-a-Thon on Feb. 23 and Top Banana pinewood derby race on March 22.
