SW-MG Wins Weekend Games

Southwestern-Maple Grove posted a successful weekend on the ice after picking up a pair of wins.

The team prevailed easily over Orchard Park on Friday night thanks to a hat trick by Curtis Carlson.

Nate Stephens also added a pair of goals while Nick Booker, Joey Gerace, Bryce Moyer and Tyler Bell lit the lamp one time each for a 9-1 final.

Andrew Farnham totaled five assists on the night, Gerace had two and Bell, Zach Hammond, and Thomas Sirianno had one each.

Ben Richard recorded the win between the pipes.

On Sunday, SW-MG picked up a solid win over East Aurora thanks to another hat trick by Carlson that produced a 6-4 final.

Farnham added a pair of goals and four assists in the win and Nate Stephens had a goal. Carlson also notched three helpers and Tommy Gerace had two while Stephens and Brandon Decker picked up one each.

Ryan Pascarella was in net for the victory.

SW-MG will return to the ice on Thursday at home against East Aurora at 8:45.

On Saturday SW-MG will play Jamestown in the annual CCYHA senior recognition night at the Jamestown Savings Bank Arena at 7 p.m.
