LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
BUSTI – Nicole McCormick, 22, of Irvine, Pa., was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance outside original container and speeding in a zone Sunday at 1:05 a.m. Lakewood-Busti Police officers allegedly observed McCormick speeding down Forest Avenue, Extension. She was found to be in possession of Hyrocodone Pills, marijuana and not having pills within their original container, police said. McCormick will appear in Busti Court at a later date to answer said charges.
LAKEWOOD – Blake Truver, 21, of Lakewood was charged with the following felonies: criminal possession of stolen property and two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument Friday at 5 p.m. The Lakewood-Busti Police Department has been investigating numerous car larcenies in and around the center of the village. Upon further investigation Truver allegedly was found to be in possession of a stolen credit card that was taken from one of the car larcenies. Truver was also identified as the person that also used the stolen credit card twice in Lakewood, police said. Other charges are still pending and the investigation involving the other car larcenies is still on going.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
ELLERY – Kevin Maytum, 44, of Dewittville, was charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or higher Saturday at 2:15 a.m. Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies responded to The Springs on Route 430 in Ellery for a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot. Upon arrival, deputies allegedly located Maytum in the back of the parking lot. Upon investigation, it was determined he was intoxicated, police said. Maytum was issued tickets to appear in Ellery Court at a later date.
CHAUTAUQUA – Ryan Somers, 34, of Mayville was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI with a blood alcohol content of .08 or greater, insufficient headlamps and uninspected vehicle Wednesday at 8:29 p.m. Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies stopped Somers on Route 394 in Chautauqua for having a headlight out. Following an investigation, he was arrested for driving while intoxicated, police said. Somers will answer the charges in Chautauqua Court at a later date.
RIPLEY – Travis Garske, 43, of Ripley was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, DWI with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater and speed in zone Saturday at 9:32 p.m. Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies allegedly observed Garske speeding on Route 20 in Ripley. Further investigation found him to be intoxicated, and due to being previously convicted of driving while intoxicated within 10 years, the arrest was a felony, police said. He was issued citations and released to appear Ripley Court at a later date.

DRUG TASK FORCE
POMFRET – Laura Lewetzski, 26, of Fredonia, Sara Tolbert, 35, of Fredonia and Melanie Green, 37, of Silver Creek were charged with criminal possession of precursors of methamphetamine and endangering the welfare of a child Saturday at 11:45 a.m. The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and the town of Pomfret constable served a search warrant at 9587 Route 60 in Pomfret. Allegedly at this time, the three defendants were found to be inside the residence, along with two minor children younger than the age of 5. The task force located a quantity of precursors and other items that are used in the production of methamphetamine, police said. Agents also seized items of evidence that will be sent for analysis. As a result of the analysis, additional charges will be brought against the defendants. The Chautauqua County Hazmat Team and the Fredonia Fire Department also responded to the scene and assisted with the recovery and removal of toxic items of evidence from the residence. The defendants were arraigned in Pomfret Court and then remanded to Chautauqua County Jail with bail sit at $10,000 cash or $20,000 property bond. As a result of the information gathered from this incident, the investigation will be on going.
VILLENOVA – Franklin Blum, 49, of Silver Creek was charged with failing to stop at a stop sign and driving while intoxicated Wednesday at 6:40 p.m. Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an accident involving two motor vehicles on South Mills Road in Villenova. After further investigation, Blum was found to be intoxicated, police said. He was processed in Hanover and will appear in Villenova Court at a later date.
POMFRET – Victor Candelaria, 33, of Rochester was charged with second-degree criminal contempt on Saturday at 4:08 a.m. Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a reported altercation at a residence on Route 5 in Pomfret. While investigating the incident, allegedly deputies discovered Candelaria was at the residence with a female that had an active court order of protection direction that he stay away from her. Candelaria was arrested and arraigned in Pomfret Court. He was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.
WESTFIELD – Matthew Jaynes, 32, of Westfield was charged with failure to dim high beams, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance Wednesday at 8:24 p.m. Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies allegedly observed Jaynes operating his vehicle with its high beams on as traffic was approaching from the opposite direction on North Portage Street in Westfield. He was stopped and through an investigation, deputies alleged Jaynes was in possession of several controlled substances. He will appear in Westfield Court at a later date and time.
PORTVILLE – Phillip Gene Donovan, 42, of Portville, was charged with two counts of third-degree assault and criminal obstruction of breathing and blood circulation Friday at 8 a.m. Deputies arrested Donovan following an alleged domestic dispute at a residence at 1567 Haskell Road in Portville. He was arraigned and sent to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $1,500. Donovan will appear in Portville Court a later date.
EAST OTTO – Dawn Brock, 24, of Cattaraugus, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or higher and failure to maintain lane. Brock allegedly failed to maintain her lane after being involved in a single-car motor vehicle accident which left her vehicle partially submerged in water. She was processed in Little Valley and released on uniform traffic tickets. Brock is scheduled to appear in East Otto Court at a later date.
ELLICOTTVILLE – Kevin Kline, 34, of Parma, Ohio, was charged was charged with driving while intoxicated, third-degree aggravated unlawful operation of a motor vehicle, refusal of a pre-screen test and no tail lights Saturday at 2:31 a.m. Kline was allegedly arrested and taken to Ellicottville Police Department for processing following a traffic stop in Ellicottville. He was arraigned in Ellicottville Court and remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $2,000 to re-appear at a later date.
