Camden High School Wins Thunderbird Duals

MAYVILLE – Thad Casler was selected the Most Outstanding Wrestler at 195 pounds in leading Camden of Section 3 to a 5-0 record in the Thunderbird Duals at Chautauqua Lake Central School on Saturday.

Camden had a 5-0 record and won the title by beating Newfane (4-1), 36-25.

Westfield/Ripley/Chautauqua Lake/Panama (3-2) finished third by prevailing over Dunkirk (2-3), 48-35.

Bath Haverling of Section 5 and Canisius tied at 42-42, but Bath won on most pins for fifth place and Salamanca ended up in seventh place by defeating Cassadaga Valley, 46-38.

In addition to Casler, Camden also had all-tournament selections in Riley Gerber at 99 pounds, Garrett Mitchell at 145 pounds and Chad Finch at 170 pounds.

Tito Colom (113), Billy Seiders (120) and Nick Jones (285) were named from Dunkirk.

Zack Mower (160) and Eben Torres (182) were chosen from Cassadaga Valley, Brad Cunningham (220) from Salamanca and Nick Hudson (132) from WRCLP.

Also selected were Andrew Gelyan (126), Cyrus Simmons (138), Nate Martin (152) and Jake Kubala (160) from Newfane along with Wyatt Hall (285) and Tyler Racaito (106) from Bath Haverling.
