Bentham Leads Way For Pine Valley Girls

FRANKLINVILLE – Sparked by Alex Bentham, Pine Valley used a second quarter run to raise its Division 2 East record to 3-0 and 9-1 overall on Friday night.

Bentham tallied 10 of her 14 points in a 17-6 second quarter that enabled the Lady Panthers to take a commanding 40-20 lead at halftime en route to a 72-58 verdict over Franklinville (2-1, 7-3).

Bentham got plenty of help from her PV teammates as Aaren Waterman also tossed in 14 points, Kayla Mansfield had 11 and Jessica Wilcox 10.

Mansfield was high in rebounding with 12 and Waterman added 10 for the winners. Bentham had five steals and Jessica Wilcox four assists.

For Franklinville, Ally Haskell sank 18 points, Vanessa Pfeiffer 14 points and Ashley Leederman 10 points. Shelby Reynolds grabbed 10 rebounds in the loss.
