LAKEWOOD – Lori A. Everson, 44, of Jamestown was charged with three counts of issuing a bad check during the month of November that were returned to the business owner, at 409 E. Fairmount Ave., for insufficient funds. A warrant was applied and she was issued an appearance ticket.

LAKEWOOD – A 16-year-old female from Jamestown was charged Friday with petit larceny. According to Lakewood-Busti Police, the suspected allegedly removed $30.91 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart without paying. An appearance ticket for the Town of Busti Court was issued.


Steven D. Schrecengost, 19, of 81 E. Duquesne St., Celoron, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and two counts of first-degree criminal contempt. On Nov. 5, the Ellicott Police Department responded to a burglary of a residence in the village of Celoron. According to the homeowner, two electronic items had been stolen from the home. Police were able to conduct several interviews and were able to locate one of the stolen items from the home of Steven Schrecengost. Police also found that he had made contact with two individuals in attempts to sell them the stolen property, which the two currently had valid orders of protection against him. Ellicott Police did obtain an arrest warrant for Schrecengost and he was later apprehended on Jan. 4 on other related charges. He was brought to Ellicott Court on Jan. 14, arraigned on the above charges and returned back to the Chautauqua County Jail.
