Woman Charged After Attempted U.S. News Robbery

A Jamestown woman was charged Thursday after allegedly attempting to rob a local U.S. News store on Jan. 5.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, an investigation into the attempted robbery revealed that Jena S. Blocker, 27, entered the U.S. News store, located at 1377 E. Second St., and handed a note to the clerk demanding money from the register.

Blocker was picked up Thursday morning at her residence after a warrant was issued for her arrest, police said.

She was charged with third-degree robbery and has been committed to the Jamestown City Jail.
