Jamestown Man Drives Drunk In Stolen Car
ELLICOTT – A Jamestown man was charged early Tuesday morning after police discovered he was driving a stolen car.
According to the New York State Police, Rodney E. Thomas, 49, was pulled over at approximately 3 a.m. on Route 60 in Ellicott, after police noticed that the 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix he was driving had no license plates on it.
Thomas had reportedly stolen the car from a Jamestown car dealer, police said.
Further investigation revealed that Thomas was also intoxicated, with a blood alcohol content of .14 percent, nearly double the legal limit, police said.
He was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, felony aggravated unlicensed operation, felony possession of stolen property and other traffic violations.
He is currently in Chautauqua County Jail.
