Update 1:35 p.m.: Route 62 Reopened After Conewango House Fire
CONEWANGO – The Department of Transportation reopened Route 62 – between Route 241 and Flat Iron Road – Monday afternoon, following a structure fire that tore through a house in the town of Conewango.
No injuries were reported.
The fire, which started at approximately 9:30 a.m., led to a response from Conewango, East Randolph, Randolph, Cherry Creek and Ellington fire officials.
The house was reportedly vacated shortly after the fire started and sustained heavy damages throughout its interior.
An investigation is currently ongoing to determine a cause.
