Gary J. “Zep” Zepka

Gary J. “Zep” Zepka, 64, of 221 Bowen St., died unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, in WCA Hospital.

A native of Jamestown, he was born July 21, 1949, a son of the late John Zepka and Alice Ringlesbach Zepka Markell.

He was a 1967 graduate of Jamestown High School.

He was a Vietnam War veteran of the US Air Force serving from 1968-72.

Prior to his retirement in 2012 he was employed by MAC Truck Parts, Falconer as a salesman.

His memberships include War Vets Recreation, AM-VETS and Herman Kent Post #777 American Le-gion.

He was an avid NASCAR fan and his driver was Dale Earnhardt. He enjoyed going to Stateline Speedway and was a member of Dick Barton’s race team.

Surviving are his companion of 21 years, Susan Taft; daughter Toni (Aaron) Zepka-Waite of Naples, Fla.; stepdaughter Lisa LaRusch of Naples, Fla.; granddaughter Leah Waite of Naples, Fla.; a brother, James Zepka of Plant City, Fla.; a sister, Nancy Lewis of Florida; and former wife, Anne Zepka, of Jamestown.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: Doug and Tom Zepka.

No funeral service will be observed.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home.
