Rothra — Cook
Virgil and Linda Rothra of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Jamestown, N.Y., announce the engagement of their daughter, Marilyn Sue, to Thao Duc Cook, the son of Philip and Spring Cook of Hubert, N.C. Miss Rothra is also the daughter of the late Katherine ”Kate” Snyder Rothra.
Miss Rothra is a 1983 graduate of St. Mary’s School for the Deaf in Buffalo, N.Y., earned a bachelor’s degree in general business in 1989 and a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1994 from Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., and her master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling in 2004 from the University of Maryland. She is employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as a rehabilitation counselor for the deaf and hard of hearing. Her fiance is a 1988 graduate of the Model Secondary School for the Deaf in Washington, D.C., a 1995 graduate of Rochester Institute of Tcchnology, Rochester, N.Y., and is pursuing a culinary arts degree at the Art Institute of Washington in Arlington, Va.
An Oct. 4, 2014 wedding is planned in Bemus Point, N.Y.
