Area Police Reports


FRENCH CREEK – Zackary Pfeffer, 21, of Girard, Pa., was charged Sunday with fourth-degree criminal mischief and theft of services. Nathan Erie, 21, of Fairview, Pa., was charged Sunday with theft of services. At approximately 5:15 p.m., security staff observed a male snowboarder jump onto a wooden fence, causing the fence to break. Security staff determined that Pfeffer and Erie had not purchased a lift pass. Both were issued appearance tickets and will appear in French Creek Court on a later date.

SHERIDAN – Zuleika Belardo-Sanchez, 23, of Lancaster, Pa., was involved in a motor vehicle accident Tuesday. Sanchez was traveling East on Route 5 in Sheridan when she struck a guard rail on the north side of Route 5. Sanchez was not injured. Her vehicle was severely damaged.

SILVER CREEK – Natalie N. Payne, 27, of Silver Creek was involved in a motor vehicle accident Wednesday. At approximately 12:30 p.m., deputies responded to a vehicle accident just outside of Silver Creek. It was determined that Payne was traveling on Route 20 when she failed to negotiate a turn. She reportedly struck a snow embankment, causing her vehicle to overturn and land in the driveway of a residence. Payne was transported by Silver Creek EMS to Lake Shore Hospital for neck pains. No charges at this time.


Edward M. Hough, 47, of Buffalo was charged Monday with first-degree burglary, second-degree assault, third-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree strangulation. At approximately 4:18 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Washington Street for a disorderly person. Upon arrival, an officer observed a male chasing a female through the residence. The officer made entry and took the defendant – Hough – into custody. Officers learned that Hough unlawfully entered the residence and assaulted a male victim with several household objects. During the assault, several of the male victim’s items were destroyed. Additionally, Hough assaulted and strangled a female victim to the point where she lost consciousness. Hough was transported to the city jail and is awaiting arraignment.


Ryan C. Whitney, 24, of Allegany was charged Friday with parole violation. At approximately 7:30 p.m., Whitney turned himself into a patrol on a New York state parole violation warrant. He is being held at the Cattaraugus County Jail and is pending parole violation proceedings.

Jacob J. Ray, 20, of Machias was charged Jan.1 with second-degree harassment, fourth-degree criminal mischief and first-degree criminal contempt. At approximately 9:47 a.m., Ray was taken into custody after a domestic dispute with his girlfriend. Ray was taken to Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $500 bail, $1,000 bond.
