Lorron G. Caryl

Lorron G. Caryl, born Oct. 14, 1915, in Rochester, N.Y., son of Roy and Christine Caryl, passed away on Jan. 2, 2014, at Hospice Care Center, Orange City, Fla.

He was a 1939 graduate of the University of Rochester, Lieutenant U.S. World War II, retired President Business and Industry Group of Interstate United Corporation, retired Director of Finance of Chautauqua County, N.Y., and a member of Deltona Library Association.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Meredith Jane Tallman Caryl; and his second wife, Doris Bonnell Caryl.

He is survived by his daughter, Donna Caryl Pocock of Orange City, Fla.; his son, James Caryl of Virginia Beach, Va.; six grand-daughters; one grandson and their spouses; 12 great-grandchildren; his sister, Kay of Martinsburg, W. Va.; nieces, nephews and their spouses; and five stepchildren and their families.

He enjoyed playing golf, Scrabble, and reading.

He has donated his body to the University of Central Florida.

A Memorial service will be held at Emmaus Lutheran Church 2500 S. Volusia Ave. Orange City, Fla., on Jan. 11, 2014, at 1 p.m.
