Judith Ann Tsitso 1949-2014

SPRINGFIELD – Judith Ann (Johnson) Tsitso, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014. Born on June 24, 1949, in Jamestown, N.Y., a daughter of the late Phillip and Vivian (Anderson) Johnson, she was raised and educated in Jamestown and graduated from Jamestown High School. Judy later married and raised her family in Wilbraham and Palmer, Mass. She then resided in Warren, Mass.

Throughout Judy’s life she was a homemaker, baker and a home health care provider. During her children’s youths she was a den mother, Girl Scout leader, and actively involved in the PTA.

She was involved in community theatre. She was a very intelligent and talented artist. Judy was an exceptional painter and a gifted interior designer. She was an excellent cook and exquisite baker, who at one time owned her own bakery. Judy is survived by her loving children, Tina Tsitso of Deland, Fla., Michael Tsitso of Tomball, Texas, and Jason Tsitso and his wife, Sarah, of Longmeadow, Mass.; her six siblings: Jeanette, Elaine, Patricia, Bonnie, Linda and Arthur all of Jamestown; eight grandchildren, Andrew, Dimetra, Katherine, Nicholas, Seth, Javen, Lilly and Vivian; and two great grandchildren: Cole and Alice; countless nieces and nephews and her stepfather, Donald Taylor of Jamestown, N.Y.; and by her former husband, Nicholas Tsitso of Hemphill, Texas.

Judy was a proud and honorable woman who rose from humble beginnings.

She was a generous and caring woman who would give of her time, love and knowledge. She will be greatly missed by many as she touched so many people’s hearts. All funeral services for Judy will be a private family viewing.

A memorial service will be held in Jamestown in June 2014. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions in Judy’s name may be made to the Open Pantry Community Services, P.O. Box 5127, 287 State St., Springfield, MA 01101-5127.
