Area Police Reports


SHERMAN-Cole E. Jacobs, 19, of Bay Village, Ohio, was charged Wednesday with unlawful possession of marijuana. Troopers responded to a report of a vehicle off the road on I86. Upon approaching the vehicle, the patrol noticed a strong odor of marijuana, and with the assistance of a K9 unit, located marijuana in a backpack in the rear passenger seat. Jacobs was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in Sherman Court at a later date.

FREDONIA-Jonas T. Greenstein, 23, of Stockton and Daniel P. Meder, 23, of Dunkirk were charged with promoting the sexual performance of a child and endangering the welfare of a child. An investigation revealed that the men had exchanged sexually explicit text messages and nude photographs with a 16yearold female from Stockton. Both men were arraigned and are currently free on bail.

NORTH HARMONY-Miguel A. Ayala, 38, of Jamestown was charged Wednesday with fifthdegree criminal possession of stolen property, fourthdegree criminal possession of a weapon, aggravated unlicensed operator, uninsured motor vehicle and loud exhaust. A traffic stop on I86 led to Ayala being taken into custody after police determined Ayala’s license plate was stolen from Erie, Pa. Ayala was also found in possession of a billy club. Ayala was committed to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail. He is scheduled to appear in North Harmony Court on Jan. 16.

SHERMAN-Cassie M. Seekings, 20, of Corry, Pa., was charged Wednesday with failing to stop at a stop sign and unsafe tires. Police investigated a personal injury accident on Titus Road at the intersection of ST76 in Sherman. Seekings was traveling westbound on Titus Road and failed to stop at the intersection with ST76. She slid through the intersection then down a snow embankment into a field off the west shoulder of ST76. Two passengers were transported to Westfield Hospital for minor injuries. Seekings will appear in Sherman Court on Jan. 21.
