Dunkirk Man Charged With Drug Trafficking
DUNKIRK-A Dunkirk man was charged with drug trafficking Wednesday after a monthslong investigation into his alleged criminal activity.
According to the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force, Daniel Melendez, 27, was wanted on an outstanding Chautauqua County grand jury indictment warrant, charging him with multiple counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. Melendez was indicted after the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office presented information alleging that he possessed and sold cocaine to agents of the task force in Dunkirk.
Melendez was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail, and is pending arraignment.
