Jamestown BPU?To Close Christmas Eve, Day

The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities customer service and offices will be closed on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Christmas Day, Wednesday?Dec. 25.

Customer Service and offices will be closed also on Tuesday, Dec. 31, and Wednesday, Jan. 1, for New Year’s.

Regular BPU hours will resume on Thursday, Dec. 26, and Thursday, Jan. 2.

For the convenience of solid waste customers, garbage and recycling trucks will be outside Customer Service, 92 Steele St., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, to help with holiday cleanup.

Garbage and recycling normally collected on Wednesdays will be picked up on Thursday, Dec. 26, and Thursday, Jan. 2, so Solid Waste employees may celebrate the holidays. Paper recycling, corrugated cardboard and box board will be picked up during the week of Dec. 23 and clean, clear glass will be collected during the week of Dec. 30. Customers who need to pay bills after-hours may leave checks in drop-off boxes located at the top of the BPU’s “D” driveway, 92 Steele St.; outside City Hall on Tracy Plaza; inside the vestibule of the Jamestown Police Department entrance on Second Street; and outside the Town of Ellicott Building in Falconer. Payments left after hours should only be made by check. Customers are reminded that online payments may be made by credit card, debit card and e-check at www.jamestownbpu.com.
