Police: Falconer Man Steals Debit Card, Injures Officer During Arrest
FALCONER – A Falconer man who allegedly stole a debit card and its pin number caused minor injuries to an Ellicott police officer Wednesday during his arrest.
Lisandro M. Sanchez, 32, was charged with petit larceny, third-degree unlawful possession of personal identification information, resisting arrest and third-degree assault after a friend notified police that her debit card was stolen during the time Sanchez had visited her home.
The victim alleged that Sanchez told her he would bring back the card several times, but failed to do so.
According to the Ellicott Police Department, approximately $360 was removed from the victim’s account during the card’s disappearance.
Police were able to obtain surveillance video of one of the transactions, which showed multiple subjects using the card in a Jamestown location.
When interviewed, the subjects told police that they obtained the card and pin number from Sanchez, police said.
On Wednesday, police approached Sanchez at a Falconer business on East Main Street, advising him of a current warrant against him. Sanchez resisted police and attempted to flee, causing a minor injury to an officer. Sanchez was taken into custody and transported to Chautauqua County Jail on the above charges.
