Prendergast Library To Host Food Safety Workshop
The James Prendergast Library will offer a program at 7 p.m. Wednesday, about learning, health and behavior problems that may begin in the grocery cart.
“The brand of ice cream, cookie, and potato chip you select could have a direct effect on behavior, health, and ability to learn for you or your children,” according to presenter Renee Shutters. Ms. Shutters believes parents can help by providing an environment and foods that are free of toxins and by adding healthy nutrients.
The speaker is a Feingold volunteer-parent advocate, and more information is available at feingold.org.
“There are countless books about parenting, but unless a child is protected from all the stuff we avoid, parenting techniques are likely to fall short,” she said.
Another parent education opportunity will be offered at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder with Ryan M. Smith and Alycia Yard Johnson.
Programs for parents are free, and no registration is required. For information, call 484-7135. Prendergast Library is located at 509 Cherry St., Jamestown.
