Jackson Center Offering Honorary Bricks For Holiday Season

The Robert H. Jackson Center is offering a unique opportunity to provide an enduring and highly visible way to honor family members, friends, veterans and other loved ones this holiday season.

Through the end of the year, the center is offering 8-inch by 8-inch engraved honorary bricks at a special price through its “Buy A Brick – Build a Legacy” project. The inscribed bricks, for a $750 donation, will become a permanent part of the center’s grounds, to be viewed and enjoyed for years to come. Smaller size, 4-inch by 8-inch bricks are also available for a donation of $500. The honorary bricks will be fitted into a walkway, to forever become part of the historic tapestry that is woven through the center’s history and future.

James C. Johnson, president and CEO of the Robert H. Jackson Center, sees the brick project as a way to make a gift to the center that will last for many years, while recognizing those whose contributions have made the community – or perhaps, the world – a better place.

“These commemorative bricks will be part of the center and the surrounding community for many years to come,” Johnson said. “I can’t think of a better way to honor someone for an achievement, a milestone, or commitment to public service than with an honorary brick.”

Proceeds from the “Buy a Brick – Build a Legacy” project will become part of the center’s annual fund to be used towards its ongoing educational initiatives and activities. A certificate announcing the gift will be sent to the recipient, and, once the bricks have been installed, an invitation to a garden reception for donors and honorees will be sent.

The honorary bricks allow for six lines of type with 18 characters in each line. Brick donation forms, with suggested wording, are available at the Robert H. Jackson Center, 305 E. Fourth Street, Jamestown, NY 14701. For more information, call 483-6646.
