Peter and Mary Ann D’Angelo Carlo of Jamestown, N.Y., celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 17, 2013, with the renewal of the vows at St. James Church. The Rev. Darryl Duffy performed the ceremony. In attendance from the original wedding party was Louis Carlo, best man and Anne Messina, matron of honor. They are the parents of Richard (Nancy) Carlo and Dianna (Terry) Samuelson and the late Patricia-Jo Carlo Field. They also have four grandchildren: Peter (Elizabeth) Field, and Tara Ann (Nick) Cooke of Huntersville, N.C., Sara Patricia Samuelson and Isabella Carlo of San Antonio, Texas, and a great-grandchild, Caitlyn Field.
Carlo was co-owner of Boniwood Plaza, and had been employed by Jamestown Finishing Company. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he is a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Robert P. Illig Chapter 47, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 53, American Legion Post 149, Vietnam Veterans, the AMVETS and has been the benefactor of numerous American flags to schools, veterans groups, organizations and churches. Mrs. Carlo was employed by Ruslink’s Plaza Drug and is a volunteer with the St. James Thrift Store. They are both involved in the Jamestown Memorial Day Parade, RSVP and have played Santa and Mrs. Claus for many nursing homes and organizations for more than 25 years.
