Skating Club Receives Grant

The Jamestown Skating Club was awarded a grant from the Axel W. Carlson Memorial Fund at the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation to support the club’s future marketing and promotional costs.

Ag. Department Office Moves

The U.S. Agriculture Department Service Center for Chautauqua County is moving to a new location on Tuesday. The offices for the Farm Service Agency, Natural Resource and Conservation Service and Chautauqua County Soil and Water Conservation District will be relocated to Suite 600, 222 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown. The telephone numbers will remain the same for the USDA Service Center. Cornell Cooperative Extension offices will remain in the Frank Bratt Building, 3542 Turner Road.

GED Exam Rescheduled

The GED exam scheduled for today at the JHS Technology Academy has been canceled. Exams will take place Friday, Dec. 20, and Saturday, Dec. 21. Please contact your teacher if you have questions.

Christmas Concert Set For Sunday

KENNEDY – The Kennedy First United Methodist Church will present a Christmas concert on Sunday at 7 p.m. The program includes a wide variety of ages, solos, duets, a trio and several mixed numbers by Common Ground, the church quartet. Featured singers are Patty, Taryn and Taylor Dechow, Cynthia Woodin, Olivia Booth, Laurel Hoch, Burke, Megan, Benjamin and Zachary Lindquist, David Rublee and Donna Dort. Cindy Woodin, organist, will perform the prelude. Pianists are Rublee and Dort. All are invited to attend.

Allegany Region Group To Meet

M. Brad Whitcomb, regional director for the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, Allegany Region, announces that the Allegany Region Commission will meet at Allegany State Park, Administration Building (Red House Area) Monday at 11 a.m.

Panama Board To Meet Monday

PANAMA – The Panama Central School board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the boardroom. The public is welcome to attend.

Book Club To Meet Tuesday

LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood Memorial Library book discussion group will meet on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the library to discuss “The Outliers: The Story of Success” by Malcolm Gladwell. The Jan. 21 selection is “Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail” by Cheryl Strayed. The books are available at the library and at Off the Beaten Path Bookstore in Lakewood. The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities will meet at 3 p.m. Monday in the board room of the BPU Operations Center, 92 Steele St.

Auto Club To Meet Wednesday
