Vehicle-Pedestrian Accident In City
Jamestown Police responded to a vehicle-pedestrian accident on North Main Street outside of The Pub just before 8 p.m. Friday.
Upon arrival police found a victim laying on the ground between vehicles parked along the roadway, and a four-door Hyundai Elantra sedan, involved in the accident, turned toward the double yellow line.
Alstar ambulance arrived and stabilized the victim using a stretcher and neckbrace while police began taking supporting depositions from onlookers who heard the accident and were near the scene.
The female driver of the vehicle involved was visibly distraught and could be heard saying, “I didn’t mean to hit ’em, I tried to stop.”
Jamestown Police were assisted at the scene by Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies.
No further information as to the condition of the victim was made available by press time.
