Busti To Host Christmas Dinner
BUSTI – The Christmas dinner for the Busti Fire Department and Auxiliary members and spouses will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Those attending should bring a dish to pass. Table service and beverage will be provided. The auxiliary will hold its final meeting of 2013 after the dinner at 7 p.m. with election of officers for 2014 on the agenda. A $10 gift exchange will follow the meeting. All members are asked to attend.
Community Carol Set For Tonight
Allen Park Women’s Club will host the seventh annual Community Carol Sing at 6 p.m. tonight around the bonfire at the Pavilion in Allen Park. Santa Claus, sleigh rides around the park, Madrigal singers, hot chocolate and cookies will be provided. All are invited, and the event is free of charge.
Legion To Host Monthly Breakfast
Herman Kent American Legion Post 777 is holding its monthly breakfast Sunday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. There will be a full buffet with scrambled eggs, ham, sausage, sausage gravy, French toast, danish and a three-egg omelet. The cost is $6 a person.
To Meet Sunday
On Sunday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike or ski four to five miles in the Economite Road area. Participants will meet at Musante Street in Warren at 1:30 p.m. For more information call Greg Burkett at 814-723-4989.
Youth Program Set For Dec. 22
SHERMAN – A children’s program will be presented in the North Harmony United Methodist Church on Sunday, Dec. 22 at 2 p.m. Parents with children wishing to participate should contact John Jackson, church pastor, at 753-3550.
Set For Saturday
ELLINGTON – The Baptist Church of Ellington, 530 Route 62 North, will present the Christmas cantata ”Bethlehem Morning” on Saturday at 4 p.m. Dinner will follow. The event is open to the public, at no charge.
Churches To Sing Sunday
The combined choirs of the Magnolia, North Harmony and Open Meadows United Methodist Churches will present the Christmas cantata “The Joy of Christmas” on Sunday in the Magnolia UMC, 3969 Route 394, north of Stow, at 12:45 p.m. Patty Zdunski and Juanita Wallace-Jackson, soloists, will be accompanied by Mary Jane Miller. A tureen dinner will follow the performance. Those attending should take a dish to pass and their table service. All are welcome to attend.
Kennedy Church To Host Concert
KENNEDY – The Kennedy First United Methodist Church will present a Christmas concert on Sunday at 7 p.m. The program includes a wide variety of ages, solos, duets, a trio and several mixed numbers by Common Ground, the church quartet. Featured singers are Patty, Taryn and Taylor Dechow, Olivia Booth, Laurel Hoch, Burke, Megan, Benjamin and Zachary Lindquist, David Rublee and Donna Dort. Cindy Woodin, organist, will perform the prelude. Pianists are Rublee and Dort. All are invited to attend.
