Set For Friday

LAKEWOOD – Ladies from several area churches will be caroling at the Chautauqua Mall on Friday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. near the Food Court. They will be joined by Kyle Jordan on the saxophone. Donations of hats, scarves and mittens will be accepted to giveaway to children in our community.

Cookie Sale

Set For Friday

LITTLE VALLEY – The Memorial Library of Little Valley will hold its annual Holiday Cookie sale on Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cattaraugus County Bank. Attractive 1-pound plates of mixed holiday cookies and brownies will be available along with loaves of cranberry bread. Sugar-free cookies would also be appreciated. The cost of the cookies is $8 per plate and the bread is $4 for a medium-sized loaf. Area bakers are welcome to contribute to this event by bringing their best cookies, brownies and holiday breads into the Library on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, call the Library at 938-6301. Library hours are Monday and Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.; Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon.

Giglio To Host Open House

OLEAN – Assemblyman Joseph M. Giglio, R,C,I-Gowanda, reminds residents that he will be hosting his 9th Annual Holiday Open House at his Olean district office for residents of the Southern Tier. Giglio will be accepting new, unwrapped toys for the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program as well. The Holiday Open House gives residents a chance to visit Giglio’s Olean office, which will also serve as a drop-off site for donations. The open house will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, at 700 W. State St., Westgate Plaza in Olean. Light refreshments will be served. Giglio will accept donations for the Toys for Tots program until Dec. 20 at his district office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Board To Meet

SOUTH DAYTON – The Pine Valley Central School board will begin its meeting Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will adjourn at 6:45 p.m. for the purpose of interviewing candidates for the vacated board seat.

Winter Selection Now Available

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St. between East Fourth and East Fifth streets, Jamestown, has a new large selection of Christmas items this week. Also available is a large selection of winter clothing including winter coats for men and women. The shop is open for sales and receiving from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and for receiving only from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday. Off-street parking is available in the church lot off East Fifth Street. This is a nonprofit enterprise with all proceeds going to local outreach and is run by local volunteers, many of whom are with RSVP. The shop will be closed Christmas week.

Christmas Auction Set For Friday

ELLINGTON – The Ellington Town Picnic Association will host a Christmas auction at 6 p.m. Friday at the Ellington Fire Hall. New items up for auction include household items, toys, clothing, tools, giftware, games and some food items. The Ellington Town Picnic members will serve chili, hot dogs, home baked pies and beverages.
