The Jamestown Lakers Squirt Mixed travel team played a series of four games in Rochester last weekend.

In the first game Saturday morning, the Lakers dropped a 3-1 decision to the Ithaca Bears. The Lakers’ only goal was scored by Michael Gerace. Jackson Yost played goal and earned player-of-the game award.

The Lakers won their second game on Saturday against the Rochester Americans’ AAA Squirt travel team by a score of 6-0. Evan Christensen led the Lakers, scoring three goals in the first period and adding an assist in the third period. Declan Brown added two goals and Brendan Hirliman scored the other Lakers’ goal. Trenton Shutters had a pair of assists while Jed Hirliman and Cooper Bergman added an assist apiece. Yost earned the shutout in goal for the Lakers. Christensen was named playerof the game.

Sunday morning the Lakers lost 7-4 to the Webster Cyclones. Both Trenton Shutters and Christensen scored two goals and added one assist. Brown added two assists. Yost was in goal for the Lakers and Trenton Shutters was the player of the game.

The Lakers won their final game of the series on Sunday afternoon, 3-1, beating the Rochester Americans AA Squirt Mixed team. Devin Wolfe, Gerace, and Brown scored for the Lakers. Bergman and Taryn Sillanpa recorded assists. Yost earned the victory in net for the Lakers. Brown was named player of the game.
