JCC?Men Fall To CC?Beaver County

Jamestown Community College had another bad first half and that led to a NJCAA Division II non-conference defeat on Saturday afternoon at home.

The Jayhawks fell behind 51-33 at halftime and played much better in the second half but eventually lost to CC Beaver County,96-74.

The loss dropped JCC to a 2-6 record while CC Beaver County made it two straight over the Jayhawks and is now 6-1 for one of top Division II teams in the nation.

Andre Anthony had a big game for Beaver County with 34 points on 13-of-24 from the field and 7-of-7 from the foul line. He also chipped in with a team-leading five assists.

Nehemiah Fisher had 18 points, E.J. Blackwell 14 and Jaquan Bryant 13 for Beaver County, which shot 36-of-78 from 36 percent from the floor.

The visitors were especially hot in the second half by sinking 19-of-35 for 54 percent. The winners drilled 17-of-21 from the foul line for 81 percent.

JCC received 20 points from Jerome Jackson, 19 from Ohndo Smith and 15 from Skyler Liddell and Kasean Jackson. For Liddell, it was his career high and was 5-of-10 from 3-point range.

Smith grabbed 19 rebounds and had 10 offensive rebounds for the Jayhawks, who shot 24-of-67 from 36 percent from the floor. The Jayhawks hit 13-of-24 for 54 percent from the foul line.
