Poor Start Send Jayhawks To 91-86 Road Loss Vs. Pitt-Titusville

TITUSVILLE, Pa. – A poor start eventually proved costly for Jamestown Community College men’s basketball squad on Wednesday night.

JCC fell behind by an 18-2 count and eventually trailed, 51-33, at halftime before falling, 91-86, to Pitt-Titusville in non-conference NJCAA action.

Tyreek Jewell, Ohndo Smith and Jerome Jackson didn’t see action until the second half and sparked JCC to a 53-40 run. Jewell, the team’s top scorer, had 13 points, Jackson seven points and Smith six points and a team-high 10 rebounds.

Kasean Jackson led the Jayhawks with 21 points followed by Alek Peck with 15 points, Jobse Reyes with 14 and Jabar Williams with 10. Peck was 7-of-9 from the field.

Pitt-Titusville was on target all game and wound up shooting 61 percent (36-of-69) from the field while the Jayhawks weren’t bad at 49 percent (33-of-67).

Houston Dugan led the Pitt-Titusville offense with 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting and grabbed 13 rebounds. Dante Lunsford sank 19 points, Hiree Peoples 16 and Lloyd Wheeler 12.
