TITUSVILLE, Pa. – The last six minutes of the first half proved to be the right tonic for the Jamestown Community College women’s basketball team in non-conference NJCAA basketball game Wednesday night.
JCC went on a 19-6 run in the final six minutes of the first half with seven different girls contributing points to gain a 35-21 halftime lead en route to a 76-43 victory over Pitt-Titusville.
At the time of the surge, JCC held a 16-15 edge after trailing by an 8-2 count in the early stages of the game.
The Jayhawks opened the second half with another impressive run, outscoring the hosts, 15-2, to take a 50-33 advantage with 14:30 remaining.

Taylor Storer was next in scoring with 12 points while Brook Draggett and Amy Sands helped out with 10 points each for the Jayhawks.
”It was a good win, especially since we won a close game against them at our place,” JCC coach George Sisson said. ”We played very good defense.”
Foul shooting was excellent for JCC as it was 9-of-9 in the first half and finished 11-of-12 overall.
