Auxiliary To Meet
The Marco Polo Auxiliary will meet today, hosted by Mary Racitano and Rita Ellis. Linda Conti and Josephine Conti hosted a recent meeting. Racitano thanked the committee for dinner and opened the meeting with a flag salute and prayer. Reports by Frances Lunetta, secretary, and Dorothy Galati, treasurer, were given. Discussion was centered on the Christmas party. Ellis will contact several places and report back to members. Members are to continue baking for the monthly spaghetti dinners. Catherine Colera celebrated her birthday.
Christmas Tree Lighting In Busti
BUSTI – All are invited to the Busti town triangle on Saturday at 7 p.m. for the annual Christmas tree lighting. Following the ceremonies, Santa will arrive and refreshments will be provided by the Busti Ladies Auxiliary. Music will be provided by the Harmony Production Company, a local barbershop quartet.
Rummage Sale Set For Saturday
SUGAR GROVE – Chandlers Valley United Methodist Church, 9215 Jackson Run Road, is hosting a rummage, bake, food and gift sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Sons Of Legion To Hold Dinner
The Sons of the American Legion 149, 364 Fluvanna Ave., next to Arby’s, will host a free spaghetti dinner for veterans and active duty military and their immediate families on Saturday from 4-7 p.m. The event is open to non-veterans for a $6 donation. Proceeds will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Reservations are not required, but appreciated; call 664-7538. A military identification card or current veteran’s club card is required.

CHERRY CREEK – The Cherry Creek/Leon United Methodist Church, Main Street, Cherry Creek, will host a craft show and cookie walk on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Crafters, artisans and venders will offer ideas at affordable prices. A visit with Santa will be from 10 a.m. to noon and a winter village will be on display. Homemade cookies will be available at $3.75 per dozen and a chili/soup lunch will be offered.
Bow Ceremony Set For Sunday
CHERRY CREEK – The Cherry Creek Community Association Inc. will hold its annual Christmas Memorial Bow Ceremony on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at the gazebo in the Memorial Park, followed by refreshments at The Trillium Lodge Restaurant. Bows may be purchased at Rustic Creations, Mendle’s Crossroads Grocery or by sending money and names to CCCA, PO Box 213, Cherry Creek, NY 14723. Burgundy bows are $3 each; red, white and blue for veterans are $3; and pink bows for cancer victims are $4 each with $1 going to cancer research.
Leon Christmas Set For Sunday
LEON – The Leon Historical Society will sponsor an “old fashioned Christmas” on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the1836 Church, Route 62 at the four corners in Leon. Holiday music will be provided by Paul Zittel & Friday Cattaraugus Kidz Klub. Members will be attired in Victorian dress. All are welcome to attend; Victorian dress is optional for non-members.
