Eva Woolsey Yeskey

Eva L. Woolsey Yeskey, 91, of Sinclairville, completed her earthly journey at her home and went to her heavenly home Thursday (Nov. 28, 2013) following a brief, courageous battle with cancer. She was a devoted wife, mother, grand-mother and friend and will be missed and remembered for her loving kindness.

She was born April 25, 1922, in Greene County (Greeneville), Tenn., the daughter of the late Robert Taylor and Lura Broyles Woolsey.

After graduating from Greeneville School of Commerce, Eva was employed by the US Navy in Chicago, Ill. She went on to work in Washington D.C. Treasury Department and later as Secretary to the Chief of Civilian Personnel at US Coast Guard Head-quarters. After moving to the area, she worked and retired from the Jamestown Credit Bureau.

Surviving are four children: Faye (Jerry) Wills of Mosheim, Tenn., Charles Yeskey (Valerie Francis) of Jamestown, Paul (Kris) Yeskey of Frewsburg, Priscilla (Rodney) Shoup of Gerry; a daughter-in-law ShirleyAnn Yeskey of Portland, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are dear friends, Ann Wiltsie Lanzel of Lander, Pa., and Doris Underwood of Sinclairville.

She was preceded in death by her husband Walter E. Yeskey (1999); and oldest son Fred Yeskey (2006); four brothers and three sisters all of Greeneville, Tenn.

The family would like to thank Dr. Patrick Collins and Dr. Ryan White for their compassionate care.

A committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 7) at Warren Memorial Park and a celebration of life at 3 p.m. at Lander United Methodist Church. Officiating will be her grandson, Rev. Mark Wills of Greeneville, Tenn.
