JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
Donald R. King, 34, of Jamestown was charged Thursday with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, improper/switched plates, uninspected motor vehicle and unregistered motor vehicle. His passenger, Donald W. Dean Sr., 34, of Jamestown was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. At approximately 3:06 a.m., officers stopped King’s vehicle on Arterial at Forest Avenue for improper/switched plates. Further investigation revealed that both King and Dean were in possession of 4.5 grams of cocaine. King and Dean were taken into custody without incident to Jamestown City Jail where they await arraignment.
Edwin M. Deming, 25, of Brocton was charged Wednesday with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and second-degree harassment. At approximately 6:55 p.m., officers responded to the Bradmar Circle apartments for a reported physical domestic dispute. Upon investigation, it was determined that Deming had a physical altercation with a female victim in which he threw the victim to the ground and allegedly choked her. Deming also refused to release the victim during the incident. Deming is currently awaiting arraignment at Jamestown City Jail.
Joseph Ferino of Jamestown was charged Wednesday with second-degree criminal trespassing. At approximately 7:16 p.m., officers reported to an address on Spring Street for a reported verbal domestic violence incident. Upon investigation, it was determined that Ferino unlawfully entered and remained in the apartment of the female victim. Ferino started a verbal argument and left the apartment. Ferino is currently awaiting arraignment at Jamestown City Jail.
Jeremy M. Smith, 20, of Jamestown was charged Wednesday with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and second-degree harassment. At approximately 10:04 p.m., officers dispatched to the area of Barrows Street and Chandler Street for a reported fight. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a female victim who claimed that Smith had bitten, pushed and choked her during a domestic incident. Smith is currently awaiting arraignment at Jamestown City Jail.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
Michael C. Wilson, 38, of Celoron was charged Wednesday with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se and speeding. At approximately 1:13 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle speeding on Hunt Road. Upon stopping, the officer determined that Wilson was intoxicated. Wilson will appear in the Town of Busti Court at a later date.
CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
Brett Westfall, 21, of West Valley was charged with driving while intoxicated with .08 percent of 1 percent or higher, DWI and failure to keep right. Westfall was released to a third party and is to appear at the Ashford Town Court on a later date.
Deborah L. Balog, 49, of Springville was charged Wednesday with driving while intoxicated, insufficient tail lights and unlawful possession of marijuana. At approximately 1:04 a.m., Balog was found in possession of marijuana during a traffic stop. Balog was released on appearance tickets and will appear at the Town of Ashford Court on a later date.
NEW YORK STATE POLICE
KENNEDY – Guillermo Lopez-Rendon, 23, of Mexico was taken into custody Wednesday after police determined he was in the United States illegally. Troopers pulled over a vehicle on Interstate 86 for a traffic violation. After Lopez-Rendon was unable to provide a passport, police contacted the United States Border Patrol and learned he was in the United States illegally.
