Pietrocarlo, Wefing Running At Federation Meet Today

WAPPINGER FALLS – Two Maple Grove High School cross country runners will be competing today in the New York State Federation cross country championships at Bowdain Park.

Sophomore Hope Pietrocarlo, who claimed the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class D individual title last week in Queensbury, is one of 70 girls selected to run in a race that pits the best of the public/private/Catholic schools in the Empire State.

Meanwhile, Red Dragon senior Corey Wefing is one of 72 boys chosen to run. Wefing, the four-time Section 6 Class D champ, placed seventh at the NYSPHSAA championships last weekend.
