Area Police Reports


Steven Ribbing, 31, of Jamestown, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief Sunday. At approximately 7:41 p.m., police responded to a reported burglary in progress. Police located Ribbing at the residence. Upon investigation, it was determined Ribbing damaged the glass out of an entry door, police said. Ribbing was transported to Jamestown City Jail without incident.


A 17-year-old from Sinclairville, Jonathan P. Skovira, 22, of Webster, and Georgie V. Hillyer, 43, of Hamburg, were involved in a three-car accident Friday. At approximately 7:37 a.m., deputies responded to the accident. Upon investigation, it was determined that the 17-year-old was traveling northbound on Route 60 when he drove over some ice and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle entered the southbound lane and sideswiped two oncoming vehicles. Hillyer’s vehicle sustained minor damages to the rear driver side, and Skovira’s vehicle sustained heavy damage along the entire driver side of the vehicle. Skovira’s vehicle was spun around and sent into a ditch on the west side of the roadway. The 17-year-old’s vehicle crashed into a ditch on the east side of the vehicle. Skovira received a minor laceration from the accident and was treated on the scene.


Michael F. Geer, 22, of Celoron, was charged Sunday with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Upon returning Geer to the Waterfront home, he became disorderly and was taken into custody, police said. Geer was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail and is to return to the town of Ellicott Court at a later date.

Nicholas J. Sturtevant, 22, and Elijah B. Brisley, 18, both of Salamanca, were charged Friday with unlawful possession of marijuana. Sturtevant and Brisley were found to be in possession of marijuana during a traffic stop. Both were issued appearance tickets in the town of Ellicott Court at a later date.


Robert Shawn Daniels, 33, of Olean, was charged Sunday with violation of probation. Daniels was charged and taken into custody without incident. Daniels was transported to Cattaraugus County Jail awaiting arraignment.
