Lakewood Board Approves Lube And Wash Facility
LAKEWOOD-A special-use permit application for a vehicle service facility was approved by the Lakewood Village Board recently. The approval is contingent on written comment from the Chautauqua County Planning Board.
Proposed by William McFadden to develop a vehicle service facility – an express lube and car wash – at 205 E. Fairmount Ave., the building would consist of four bays, three used for service and one wash bay.
At the Oct. 12 village board meeting, McFadden said he expected the business to service 35 cars per day initially, and within three years, it would service 60 cars per day with 40 percent of the business expected to be generated by drive-by customers.
The board also adopted a resolution approving two payouts to individual officers of the Lakewood-Busti Police Department, arbitrated and agreed to by police union representatives and the village of Lakewood on Oct. 16.
Village Treasurer Andrea Windoft was authorized to transfer expenses related to the tree damage done during the Labor Day wind and hail storm. The board also approved the Independent Health employee health plan with a renewal date of Dec. 1 and authorized Mayor David Wordelmann to execute the rate agreement.
They also approved the authorization of members for the board of trustees, planning board and zoning board of appeals to attend the annual Fall Planning and Zoning Conference to be held at Southern Tier West on Nov. 13 and Chautauqua Suites Meeting and Exposition Center on Nov. 14.
Due to Veterans Day, the next meeting will be held Tuesday.
