Trap Leagues

The Penn York Winter Trap League kicked off the 2013-14 season on Sunday at the Celoron Rod and Gun Club with 141 adult shooters and 19 junior shooters.

Jon Shelton and Alex Kyler each broke 47 targets to tie for high junior while Zack Wheeler, Nate Christianson, and Mike Ziegler shot 39s to tie for high sub junior.

Taylor Hanson only dropped one target to be the high lady and Red France also dropped just one to be the high super senior vet.

Duane Schmader and Dave Straight tied for high vet with a pair of 44s and Dick Starks and John McCanna tied for high senior vet with a pair of 46s.

George Kirin shot his first 25 straight.

Next week’s competition will be at the Carroll Rod and Gun Club. Carroll is also holding its annual slug shoot onSunday. New shooters are always welcome.

A benefit shoot for the family of Don Foster will be held on Saturday at the Celoron Rod and Gun Club from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
