’Tis The Season

FALCONER – For the third consecutive December, the Falconer Community Memory Tree will stand in the foyer of the Community Building at 101 W. Main St. in Falconer. On its branches, white paper angels will guard the names of honored loved ones across Falconer.

Citizens will be able to purchase angel tags which will adorn the tree from Nov. 8 through Nov. 30. These tags can be purchased for $2 at the village of Falconer Office, Falconer Vac Shop, Curves and the Holiday Expo on Nov. 23 at the Falconer Fire Hall. A dedication ceremony will take place on Dec. 5 at 7 p.m.

“It’s a nice tribute which hasn’t been done here (in Falconer),” said Brenda Cavallaro of the Falconer’s Eye to the Future Committee, who runs the Falconer Community Memory Tree event.

Sue Seamans, Falconer library director, said the Memory Tree has been well received by the Falconer community with some citizens even breaking down into tears upon seeing the names of loved ones decorating the tree.

The money will be donated towards the Falconer Public Library and the Falconer Region Community Fund of the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation.
