Dunkirk Man Charged After Making Threat With Firearm

DUNKIRK – A 19-year-old Dunkirk man is in Chautauqua County Jail after a firearm was displayed in a domestic dispute Saturday morning.

According to Dunkirk Police, Najee T. Finley was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a loaded firearm, second-degree menacing, second-degree obstruction of justice, endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment after an incident on the 500 block of Park Avenue around 1 a.m. after officers were called to investigate a domestic dispute. Officers say Finley had threatened the life of a female with a firearm.

Finley was located by patrols in the area and he physically obstructed officers while attempting to run away, police said. He allegedly struggled with officers as they attempted to conduct a safety search for a weapon and was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm.

He was held in city jail and arraigned by Judge Walter Drag before being sent to Mayville.
