JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
James D.L. Peterson, 30, and Matthew R. Thayer, 26, were charged at 1:49 a.m. on Friday with second-degree obstructing governmental administration. Jamestown Police and the K-9 Unit responded to Niagara Avenue at Falconer Street to assist the New York State Police locate two fleeing suspects involved in a suspicious situation. Upon arrival, Jamestown Police K-9 tracked the two suspects and located them at Lindsey Avenue at East Second Street. The suspects fled on foot after being told to stop by the police. They were taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. Both Peterson and Thayer were charged and transported to city jail awaiting arraignment.
Rebecca N. Olson, 33, of Jamestown was charged at 11:08 p.m. on Thursday with a bench warrant for third-degree aggravated unlicensed operator, resisting arrest, two counts failing to keep right, improper left turn on a two-way roadway, refusal to take a breath test, driving while intoxicated and a new charge of third-degree aggravated unlicensed operator. A vehicle was observed failing to keep right on Washington Street near West Seventh Street, failing to keep right, making a left turn onto West 10th Street and failing to keep right on West 10th at Lafayette Street. The vehicle was stopped on West 11th Street at Washington and Olson was observed operating the vehicle, police said. Olson was found to have a warrant out of Jamestown for third-degree aggravated unlicensed operator. While being handcuffed, she allegedly attempted to resist arrest but was secured. She was transported to city jail and was allegedly found to be intoxicated. An investigation into her driving record showed that she had a suspended New York state driver’s licence. She was charged and will be arraigned in Jamestown City Court.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
LAKEWOOD – Brenda J. Beck, 60, of Frewsburg was charged at 1:33 p.m. on Thursday with petit larceny. Beck allegedly stole merchandise from Wal-Mart in Lakewood and then returned the merchandise for a gift card in the amount of $77. She was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Busti Court at a later date.
