Library To Hold Class On Developmental Disabilities

Prendergast Library will host a class called Connecting People with Developmental Disabilities to Services at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The presenter is Kate Steigerwald, Development Disabilities Outreach and Information specialist with Directions in Independent Living. The goal of the program is to give families more information on The Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and the services they provide.

Steigerwald, who holds a master’s degree in education, will offer supplemental handouts and brochures for people to take with them. The presentation is expected to last about 30 minutes, depending on questions from the audience.

Although the event was designed as a parent education class, it is open to anyone interested, including area service providers.
