Domestic Dispute Hits The Streets
FRENCH CREEK – A domestic dispute that started indoors eventually ended on a street in French Creek.
On Tuesday, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department deputies were dispatched to Bakerink Road for a dispute in the highway where a male was allegedly choking a female victim.
Upon arriving, deputies spoke to Ryan M. Peters, 24, of 791 Bakerink Road. After an investigation, it was determined that Peters was involved in an altercation with the female which began in his residence and then continued into the highway, police said.
During the altercation, it is alleged Peters threatened the female with a collapsible baton and chased her outside where he choked her while she was holding an infant.
Deputies also located a cane sword in Peters’ residence, which was not used in the altercation. Peters was charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, endangering the welfare of a child, obstruction of breathing, and second-degree menacing. Peters was arraigned in French Creek Court, and was committed to the county jail on $5,000 bail.
