Panama Girls Sweep Brocton

BROCTON – Panama picked up its 11th victory of the season, sweeping Brocton, 25-14, 25-22, 25-17, in non-league girls volleyball on Monday

For the Lady Panthers (8-2, 11-7), Ally Strickland delivered 14 assists, three aces, two kills and three digs; Brittany Lenart had four aces, seven kills and two blocks; Lauren Tordella added four aces, seven kills and a dig; and Taylor Bowen had 10 assists.

Marissa Okerlund had six kills and three blocks, Morgan Bennett had four aces, three kills and a block for the Lady Bulldogs (1-9, 5-15).


SHERMAN – After losing game one, Sherman bounced back to take the next four on the way to a 21-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-16 win over Dunkirk (1-8, 2-17).

For the Lady Wildcats (6-4, 9-5), Grace Mayer connected for four aces, an assist and five digs; Katrina Christmas had an ace, eight kills and three blocks; Cadi Hannold added two aces, 12 assists and four digs; and Roxanne Toy had four aces and five kills.

Natasha Colm had two aces, 11 assists, a kill and one dig;Alexis Clark added an ace, three assists, eight kills and three digs; and Sarah Kobel produced three aces, three assists, two kills and seven digs for the Lady Marauders.

Sherman won the jayvee match in two games.


CATTARAUGUS – Cattaraugus-Little Valley (14-4) wrapped up the regular season with a hard-fought 25-21, 19-25, 16-25, 26-24, 25-13 victory over Ellicottville.

Leading the way for the Lady Timberwolves was Sara Crandall , who delivered 28 kills, 11 aces and two digs. Ashlee Harvey had 11 kills and four blocks; Jessica Pritchard produced 12 kills and 13 digs; Alyssia Goodwill had 26 assists, three aces and 13 digs; and Natalie Booth contributed 10 kills and seven digs.

For the Lady Eagles, Courtney Scanlan came through with 28 kills, 18 digs, nine aces and six blocks; Marissa Hamilton had seven kills, 13 digs and 30 assists; and Kayla Dunkleman added four kills, two aces and 24 digs.
