JCC Goes 1-2 In Home Matches

Host Jamestown Community College recorded a 1-2 women’s volleyball record in its matches with Cayuga CC. Jefferson CC and Onondaga CC on Saturday in NJCAA Division III Region 3.

JCC swept Cayuga CC, 25-13, 25-14, 25-14, to run its record to 22-6.

Christina Rauh had three aces, 28 assists, seven kills and a dig while Shannon Gunnell recorded two aces, 16 kills and three digs; Kayleane Chase had seven kills and a block; and Mandy Finch five kills, two aces and 12 digs.

The Jayhawks began the action by losing to Jefferson CC, 25-17, 19-25, 23-25, 22-25 despite Rauh having 36 assists, 10 digs, four kills and an ace.

Gunnell had two aces. 15 kills, two digs and a block; Finch had two aces, 14 kills, 13 digs and a block; and Chase six kills and four blocks for JCC.

Then against Onondaga CC, the Jayhawks were swept by scores of 12-25, 18-25, 22-25.

Finch contributed eight kills and six digs; Rauh had 19 assists and six kills; Gunnell had seven kills and a dig; and Aricca Lis five kills and two digs in defeat.

JCC was playing without Michelle Bach, who hurt her shoulder against visiting Genesee CC on Thursday, and that meant a change in the lineup.

The Jayhawks meet Butler County CC on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the final home match of the season.
