McLaughlin Announces Campaign For First Ward Seat In Ellicott
Patrick McLaughlin is running for the Ward 1 seat in the town of Ellicott.
“Keeping residential taxes down through industrial and commercial expansion will be my focus as Ward 1 councilman,” McLaughlin said. “The town still has a lot of prime business property along with the infrastructure to support new business opportunities. I also think the town should assist existing businesses who are looking to expand. I will work with town supervisor Cecil Miller to see that these opportunities come to fruition.”
McLaughlin and his wife, Kathy, are longtime Celoron residents. They have four children and 10 grandchildren.
A graduate of Cuba Central School and Olean Business College, McLaughlin previously served on the town board as well as the town Planning Board, the Celoron Village Board and the Celoron Planning Board. He is now a director of the Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association and serves on the Celoron Ribfest Committee. He has been employed as a sales representative for the past 24 years for the Arthur R. Gren Company and previously served as manager of Century Housewares in the Fairmount Avenue plaza.
“As I approach retirement, I can better understand the views of living on a fixed income,” McLaughlin said. “As our senior population grows, keeping the taxes down and fiscal responsibility will be one of my main focuses.”
